How to Report GBV

If you are experiencing or witnessing GBV, it is critical to report it so that appropriate help can be provided. Reporting GBV can save lives. We’ve made the process straightforward and secure to ensure your safety and confidentiality. Here is a step-by-step guide to report an incident:

The first step is to recognize that you or someone else is experiencing GBV. GBV can take many forms, including:

  • Physical violence (hitting, slapping, etc.)
  • Sexual assault or abuse
  • Emotional or psychological abuse (threats, manipulation)

There are multiple ways to report GBV through our platform. You can choose a method that feels safest for you:

  • Anonymous Report: If you are not ready to reveal your identity, you can make an anonymous report. Your identity and details will be kept confidential.
  • Direct Report: If you feel comfortable, you can report the incident directly to authorities or a support service via our platform. This option will connect you with professionals who can provide immediate assistance.

To make sure the right help can be provided, you will need to include the following information:

  • Location of the incident: Where the violence took place.
  • Details of the event: What happened? Be as specific as you feel comfortable being, including the type of violence and any known details about the perpetrator.
  • Time and date of the incident: When did the violence occur?
  • Victim information (optional): You can provide details about the victim if they are not the one reporting (yourself or someone else), such as age and gender.

Once you’ve filled in the essential details, click the “Submit Report” button. Our platform will securely process the report, and you will receive a confirmation that the case is being reviewed. Your privacy is our priority, and we ensure that all reports are handled with care and confidentiality.

After submitting your report, you can choose to follow up on the case. Whether it’s for updates on the progress of the report or further support, our team is available to assist you.
